Compliance & Origin Assurance

Structured market entry for Mexican agave spirits in Germany and the European Union.

Compliance is not an afterthought at Mecanova — it is the foundation of every product we bring to market. From origin verification to EU customs clearance, every step is documented, structured, and ready for partner review.

CRT / NOM-006

The Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT) oversees compliance with the NOM-006-SCFI-2012 standard — the official Mexican regulation governing the production, bottling, and labeling of tequila. This standard defines what can legally be called tequila, where it can be produced, and the quality controls required at every stage. For EU buyers, CRT certification provides a verifiable guarantee of authenticity and origin, removing ambiguity from sourcing decisions and ensuring that every product entering the supply chain meets its denomination requirements.

Traceability

Every product in our supply chain is tracked at the lot level — from production batch through export documentation to final delivery. Batch records, production certificates, and export files are maintained as a continuous chain of custody from producer to importer. This ensures that any product can be traced back to its exact origin, production date, and certification status, giving partners full visibility into what they carry.

EU Import Compliance

EU labeling requirements under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 are addressed before any product reaches a distributor — including allergen declarations, alcohol content formatting, and language-specific label versions. Customs documentation, tariff classification, and excise duty structuring are handled as part of our standard import process. German import registration and EMCS compliance are maintained so that partners receive product that is fully cleared and market-ready.

What This Means in Practice

Every product is verified at origin. No grey-market or undocumented stock enters the supply chain — only certified, traceable spirits from verified producers.

A complete paper trail from production certificate to EU customs clearance is maintained for every shipment. Documentation is available to partners on request.

Market Entry

Labeling, classification, and regulatory alignment are handled before product reaches a distributor. Partners receive goods that are shelf-ready and fully compliant.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CRT / NOM-006 certification mean for my business?

+

CRT certification under NOM-006 confirms that a tequila has been produced, bottled, and labeled according to the official Mexican standard. For your business, this means you are carrying a product with verified authenticity — reducing risk of counterfeit or mislabeled goods. It also supports credibility with informed buyers and regulators.

How does Mecanova handle EU labeling requirements?

+

We review and prepare all product labels against EU Regulation 1169/2011 before import. This includes alcohol content formatting, allergen declarations, net quantity, importer details, and any required language versions. Products arrive labeled and ready for retail or hospitality use.

Can I access compliance documentation for products I carry?

+

Yes. All active partners have access to production certificates, batch documentation, labeling approvals, and customs records for the products they carry. Documentation is available through our client portal or upon direct request.

What is the typical timeline from producer to distributor activation?

+

Timelines vary by product and producer readiness, but a typical cycle from initial producer verification to distributor activation runs between 8 and 14 weeks. This includes compliance review, label preparation, import logistics, and partner onboarding.

Does Mecanova handle excise and customs documentation?

+

Yes. Excise duty structuring, customs declarations, and EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System) compliance are managed as part of our standard import process. Partners receive product that is fully cleared with all duties settled.
